chef is an absolute amazing cook and person. he knows exactly how to make people laugh and feel welcomed. also the waiter was amazing. he brought the food out very fast and it was delicious. I would highly recommend coming to this place. 10/10 experience. HAPPY Sunday!

In a city full of awesome choices to eat - this place is fast rising as a go to spot. JP can do no wrong in the kitchen. You want a great burger - he’s crushing it. You want a meat and three at lunch - HOLY COW! The green beans are the best I’ve ever had and make sure to ask about things off the menu - they are phenomenal! The staff is all about making sure your experience is amazing. If you are thinking about it - GO! You will not leave hungry that’s for sure.

I haven’t even gotten my food yet and I just know it’s good. The smells from the kitchen are tickling my nostril hairs like nothing else can. I have attached a picture of me with a bunch of random people I have never met before bonding over the smells from the kitchen.

Great time at The Local today. My mom was in town. We went for Meat and veggies lunch! Delicious! Super friendly staff. We will definitely visit again!

I gotta keep this brief. But I definitely ran and told everyone about this place. I searched for weeks for a soul food spot with a solid online reputation and this place did not disappoint. Everything was a 10, and plus real catfish? Thank you

I’ll start by saying this. The Food, Atmosphere, and people here are out of this world. I’m more new to town and these guys were an unreal welcoming and the food they served was excellent. Very highly recommend coming in for an awesome experience and watching some ball. I really like the material of the these tables and chairs it’s really comfortable and I will absolutely be returning to this establishment. Chef is an absolute stud and recommends the right things and knows how to have a good time. Come here if you’re looking for good community, people, and food. 5 Stars any day of the week!!!

Best food I've had in a long time. My husband and I stayed in Birmingham for the weekend and I love a good brunch. After a quick search on Google we came across this place and I'm so glad we did. I had the Crabcake Situation with a side of grits, and my husband had the Chicken and Waffles. Both were amazing! Food came out hot, fresh, and well seasoned. I'm a cook and I know everyone can't make grits, but these were hands down the best grits I've ever had! We even had a chance to meet the owner and chat, nice guy! We live an hour away but will definitely travel for a good meal like this!

This place is insane- can't believe I'm just now hearing about it. It is probably the best "meat and three" in town - for sure better than Niki's and much more accessible and comfortable than Johnny's. New favorite for sure!
